  Some basic safety tips

  • Bring a flashlight or have the kids carry glow sticks
  • Make sure to cross the street at corners and take care to look both ways
  • If possible use face paint instead of a mask which could obstruct children’s vision
  • Always walk on sidewalks or paths – if there are no sidewalks then stay on the left side of the street facing traffic
  • Watch for cars that are turning or backing up
  • Use reflective tape or wear a light color costume
  • If you’re driving SLOW DOWN in residential neighborhoods. Children will be excited and may accidentally dart into traffic
  • Don’t cut across yards or driveways
  • Don’t eat any open candy or treats – wait until you get home and examine everything
