Whitner’s BBQ is in the heart of central Virginia Beach, next to Lynnhaven Mall. The locally owned restaurant has a simple and strong vision, “serve delicious, homemade food while providing excellent customer service,” and they do just that. In 2011 Whitner’s was featured on Dinners, Drive and Dives and host Guy Fieri paid them a visit putting their pit smoked ‘cue on the map. Smalls Smokehouse and Oyster Bar is a modern and fun restaurant located in the heart of Old Dominion University. Small’s is owned by a father and son duo with a passion and love for good food, good drinks and an awesome dining experience with something for everyone. As their website states, “We have tender and mouthwatering whole hogs, pork butts, beef brisket, ribs, chicken, and a slew of other meats that are slow cooked to create a smoky twang and texture that will have you coming back for more. If seafood is more your speed, try our local oysters from the Eastern Shore, hand shucked and served fresh.” Small’s is an awesome local spot and a barbeque favorite since they opened in 2013.

When gas station meets gourmet! Malbon Brothers BBQ is a Hampton Roads staple and their menu is bursting with flavor. The Malbon family has been in the hog business since 1923 which comes through in their popular and delicious meats and sauces.
