Activities in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach is full of things to do with family and friends. Parks, Beach, Museums and so much more! Virginia Beach was also named the best big city to live in! COVID-19 is still impacting what we can enjoy in the area, but here is a list of some activities to look forward to or enjoy safely.

Virginia Beach is home to 293 parks and park facilities including Mount Trashmore Park and First Landing State Park, encompassing over 7,000 acres, including neighborhood and community parks, metro parks, signature parks, natural areas, waterway accesses, trail linkages, open space preservation areas and park athletic facilities. Each park is unique and offers something for everyone, from wide open spaces to playgrounds, picnic shelters, and ballfields.

The City of Virginia Beach has an app, VB ParkFinder. The app allows you to search for parks and facilities by name, proximity and specific features like playgrounds, ball fields, kayak launches and more.

With miles and miles of beautiful coastline and meandering waterways, Virginia Beach is home to an aquatic playground of fun and adventure. Whether you sail above the coast on a parasailing excursion, drop in on a surfing session, or ride the currents with a variety of boating activities, getting on the water is never a problem. So paddle, sail, cruise, swim, or walk out to the beautiful waters of Virginia Beach and start living the life, aquatic-style.

Museums and History

Besides outdoor activities, Virginia Beach offers amazing indoor opportunities to learn and be amazed. The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center features animals and opportunities to learn about sea life firsthand, including petting stingrays in an interactive tank.
